Ashley Nealy is a public servant innovator and serves as the Assistant Director, Support Services for the United States Department of Treasury in the office of Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA).

Prior to this role, Ashley served as the Web Team Lead where she provided and led web and application development services to support the mission which is to protect the integrity of the nation’s taxpayer system.

Ashley started with TIGTA in August 2010 and has received numerous promotions and awards in her career at the Department of Treasury including the Highest Performance Award, Going the Extra Mile (GEM) Award and the IT Group Award for her regional leadership in the Laptop Refresh Project. She was also selected by the Atlanta Federal Executive Board to participate in their Leadership Government Program which prepares high performing federal employees for Senior Leadership in the federal government.

Ashley led the charge when the Office of Investigations within the Department became aware of a large-scale scam that threatened the IRS. This was particularly problematic because the agency’s website did not have a sufficient form to collect all the data needed to track the threats. The Office of Investigations tasked Ashley and her web team to resolve this issue. Under her leadership, they developed a clear and aesthetically pleasing form so instances of the scam could be reported and the data could be successfully collected. Since the form went live, over one million factual reports have been collected.

Ashley’s leadership was recognized by the Next Generation of Government (NextGen) where she received the Innovator Award out of 30 finalists and 120 nominees across federal, state, and local agencies. Ashley also received the National Black Data Processing Associates Individual PACESetter Award for Community Service 2016.

Center Fund was established to advance to the teaching of science and mathematics in Georgia’s K-12 Schools. This fund enhances programmatic strategies to recruit, influence, and nurture interest in students, especially those underrepresented in the STEM field, and will support STEM related programs for students and teachers.
